Dielectric relaxations and ion transport study of NaCMC:NaNO3 solid polymer electrolyte films

Abstract Na + ion-conducting solid polymer electrolyte (SPE) of sodium salt carboxymethyl cellulose (NaCMC) doped with nitrate (NaNO 3 ) was developed by solution casting method. FTIR technique confirmed the formation hydrogen bonding between $$ {NO}_3^{-} NO 3 ? anion and functional groups NaCMC. XRD study revealed low degree crystallinity that reduced upon doping. Impedance spectroscopy adapted in order to analyze conductivity dielectric relaxation phenomena polymer-salt complex. deconvolution employed understand factor influences ionic SPE; concentration mobile ions mobility both play a vital role. Ion transference number has been found out be > 0.97 for all samples indicating conducting species are primarily ions. The highest ? × 10 ?3 Scm ?1 mechanical strength 30.12 MPa achieved host containing 30 wt.% NaNO at ambient temperature.
